About

A refrigeration shop, not an appliance shop

Denver Sub-Zero Repair Experts works on built-in Sub-Zero refrigeration across Denver — the equipment that is bolted into cabinetry and cannot simply be swapped out when it stops holding temperature.

Most of what comes in is one of six or seven faults wearing different symptoms. Knowing which one it is before quoting is the entire job; the rest is a part, a meter and covering the floor properly on the way in.

Sealed-system work on a built-in. It is the smallest share of the calls and the longest of the visits.

Where we stand

Four things worth knowing before you call

  1. One kind of equipment

Built-in and integrated Sub-Zero refrigeration only: refrigerator and freezer columns, undercounter units, ice makers and wine storage. A shop that also does washers and furnaces sees a 700-series defrost circuit a few times a year. We see them weekly, and that is the whole argument.

  2. Diagnosis is the product

Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it. It buys a diagnosis rather than a guess with a van attached: panels off, fans and heaters metered, drain checked, gauges on the circuit when the readings ask for it. Which part, and what the repair comes to, is agreed with you before anything is ordered.

  3. We say when it is not worth it

Occasionally the honest answer is that a cabinet with a failed compressor and tired everything else is not worth the repair. You will hear that from us on the day rather than after the parts are in, and the visit still ends with the fault written down.

  4. Independent, and clear about it

This is not a manufacturer service arm. We buy Sub-Zero parts through distribution and fit them to factory specification, and the footer of every page says exactly who owns the trademark. Nobody should have to guess who they are calling.

How a call runs

Three steps, and you approve the middle one

Nothing is ordered, fitted or charged for beyond the service call until you have heard the fault and the figure.

  1. 01

Tell us what the cabinet is doing

Temperatures on both sections, any noise, and the model number from the frame inside the fresh-food door. That is enough to bring the likely part on the van instead of finding it on a second trip.

  2. 02

    Panel off, readings taken

The toe grille and rear panels come off, the condenser and fans are inspected, defrost and sensor circuits are read with a meter, and gauges go on the sealed system when the symptom points there. You get the fault and one figure for fixing it.

Lower grille removed from a built-in: condenser coil matted grey with dust, condenser fan beside it, vacuum tool and brush ready
  3. 03

    Fitted, then proved

The part goes in, the drain is flushed, and the unit is watched through a full pull-down and a defrost cycle before anyone leaves. You see the temperatures come back on the meter, not on a promise.
